The ability to pin the main menu on the left hand side of the screen

We have been playing with MAS 9.1 and noticed that the main black menu on the left hand side can be flaky. In fact all of us here have said "Wouldn't it be nice if we could simply pin the menu and push the rest of the screen out to the right so it doesn't cover up everything" I think in previous versions of Maximo you were able to pin the menu, I don't 100% remember but I think it is something that users would like to have the option to do.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. We truly value our relationship with you and appreciate your willingness to share details about your experience, your recommendations, and ideas. Our team has reviewed this enhancement request and unfortunately determined that "pushing" the entire screen over based on nav pinning is not a candidate for inclusion in the product at this time, due to the amount of odd interactions and horizontal scrolling it would cause in certain applications.
However, there are a few things to consider. First, in 9.2, we have added some timing improvements to hover (when hovering off of the nav, it will take an extra 300ms to close). This will make it feel less "flaky". Also, please note that you can pin the black navigation bar by clicking on the 3-line (hamburger) menu button in the top-left. It will then becomes sticky within a product (Manage), even when navigating around, but will close when navigating across the suite to different products.

If you would like to be involved in other Maximo enhancements, please email smithjor@us.ibm.com to become part of our sponsored user group, which is a program where you and people in your organization become active participants in the Maximo design process, working alongside our design teams to help us create great future experiences for real target users.
