For future clients, I’d like to see the addition of a precheck script or Ansible playbook that quickly validates system health, backup and restore readiness, upgrade compatibility, license validity, and more—eliminating the need to wait hours for OpenShift to report issues.

Currently, there is no comprehensive reporting or precheck script available to validate whether core Ansible playbooks—such as install, upgrade, or backup—can run successfully without causing downstream issues in OpenShift. For example, we have no automated way to confirm if the license is valid or expired, or to verify that all required services are running as expected, which is difficult to assess across the full stack. It would also be valuable to include email or notification capabilities for this script to provide daily visibility into system readiness.

    Thank you for your idea

We have a pre-check built into all our pipelines that validates the health of the cluster and prevents anything happening if anything is found to be in substandard state (ie incomplete updates, unhealthy pods etc) ...

We provide the option to disable this pre-check, but it's enabled by default and we advise against disabling it as it increases the chances of failed operation if start an install/update/upgrade on a cluster that is not starting in a stable state.

Please share any more specific feedback you have on how this can be improved.
