Allow users to lock the Main Menu without having to change every screen so it doesn't cover up the side menu

Multiple users have been complaining about the Main Menu popping out when cursor is close.  They would like the ability to lock the menu.  Some suggestions were to give them the ability to lock the menu open but the Main Menu today covers the other left side menu and then they lose that so here were the suggestions we received from the team analyzing it: Either allow a user to lock the menu and shift everything to the right.  They are aware that this would cause more scrolling to the right to see all of the screen.  Or they have the ability to move the left side application menu to the top, like in 7.6, and then lock the Main Menu on the left.  This would be a user preference set in their profile so only those that choose to do this have the ability.

    @Guest Would a profile option that forces the side-nav to stay closed unless it is clicked, and then stays open until the X or page is clicked, be acceptable? That approach would work better with applications outside of Manage and keep us aligned with other applications while also being fairly achievable.

    Thank you for entering this idea.
    At the very least, we are going to investigate making the hover effect on the side-nav a lot more forgiving (increase the timing before the navigation opens)
    We are also going to consider adding a pinning option that is retained between browser sessions as a user preference.
