Create some type of notification that informs the user that a data export limit has been set via the system property [webclient.maxdownloadrows] , so they are aware that there data may get truncated.

Setting the system property property [webclient.maxdownloadrows] helps prevent out of memory errors. However when set, the users are not aware of the limit. This presents a danger for analyzing data or trusting the dataset that is exported .

For example if the users runs an export that should return 1K records in the database, but the limit is set to 500 Maximo will export only the 500 records without any notification that the other 500 records were truncated or left out of the export. This could cause the user to incorrectly analyze the data since they only got back 500 records versus the real 1K record dataset in the database.

I understand that the export goes to a third party application like MS excel which Maximo has no control over. However , it would be beneficial if Maximo modified the existing code to present the user a notification of the limit via (dialog window ,button, or other method ) just prior to the actual export being processed. Then give the user the option to continue or cancel the export.
