Grid-Based Viewer for Images

There are multiple uses for a grid-based view of images that are either added to imglib or added as attachments to work orders.

  • Images in imglib could be used for visual search to allow users to identify items in inventory or assets that match the appearance of parts or assets at hand.

  • Images in attachments could be presented in a grid format for comparative purposes to identify changes over time, for example in thermal imaging for predictive maintenance.

  • Images in attachments could also be used to present multiple views at a glance of defects or issues to be addressed.

  • Current images could be presented for comparison against as-built images.

These functions do not require the full MVI experience but are essential in work activities conducted in Manage.

Great! Yes, the material design example you shared is good. We also would want selection of an image to offer more than just a description. For example, if the viewer is showing asset images, selection might offer the option to go to the asset or to create a work order with that asset. If it's showing item images, it might offer to go to the inventory record or create a reservation/material request.

We are currently working with our legal team to resolve their concerns re: the Sponsored User Program agreement.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. We truly value our relationship with you and appreciate your willingness to share details about your experience, your recommendations, and ideas.

I am happy to inform you that our team has evaluated the request and has determined that it is a viable candidate for inclusion in the product. To clarify the requirement, can you please provide more details (an example from other products, a screen shot, etc). Our current assumption is that you are interested in something similar to this example: https://m2.material.io/components/image-lists#anatomy

If you would like to be more involved in the features of Maximo's modernization, please email smithjor@us.ibm.com to become part of our sponsored user group, which is a program where you and people in your organization become active participants in the Maximo design process, working alongside our design teams to help us create great future experiences for real target users.
