Edit location on historical work order

We have a business need to change the location of a work order when it is in status CLOSED and the work order is historical. This need arose from discovering that work orders have been reported on the wrong location, and this is after the work order is closed. The consequence of this is a mismatch in our statistics – what’s been reported in Maximo compared to what’s actually been done in reality.


Today we can use the function “Edit hist option” to unlock edit mode to some fields on a historical work order. Would it be possible to also edit location field when a work order is set to the "Edit hist option" mode? This function would only be available for system administrators or superusers to meet our needs.

    Thank you for the request. This business logic is not something that would be easily introduced as there are consequences from an accounting perspective that would all have to be carefully considered. What we recommend is to have a process in place that would ensure the location is correct prior to CLOSE prior to any transactions/actuals being entered. This is not something that would be prioritized within the next several releases.
