Extended drilldown – add possibilty to configure classstructure into it / show tree of assets

Problem

The extended drilldown is a good tool to get a hierarchical overview about data. But it has limited options to show information in tree do easily navigate & identify different data. Additionally, when extended drilldown is opened in application asset, it does show location. As far we understood this is an intended behavior, but with this it is not possible to get overview of all assets in its hierarchical relations. At current state this functionality its very difficult for enduser to get a proper hierarchical overview.

How should it work?

We ask to improve extended drilldown in two ways:

1. Implement behavior, so that extended drilldown shows an overview in its context to application. That means: if extended drilldown is opened in application asset -> show assets. If it is opened in application locations -> show locations.

2. Allow to show more information in name of data in tree. This means not only information of mbo itself, also allow information of its relations and to group them.

To give an impression what we want to achieve, we attached two variants how we see extended drilldown could be much more useful.

Why it is useful?

As already mentioned in current state it is hardly possible to configure a view where enduser gets a proper hierarchical overview of assets/locations in business context.

Who would benefit from it?

Every enduser who has to work with highly hierarchical assets/loctions.
