SERVICEABILITY - Filter Synchronous Message tracking ability (monitoring in MAS)

Asyncrhonous Message tracking can be activated indepenendly via Publish Channel/ Enterprise Services. For Synchronous Message tracking specifically rest, there is no filtering and all is done via the System property mxe.int.trackrestrequests.

In MAS there is by default a monitor PodMonitor which in intervals of 30seconds runs monitoring calls that are REST https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/mas-cd/maximo-manage/continuous-delivery?topic=information-manage-monitoring-apis

 If Message tracking is set mxe.int.trackrestrequests the Syncrhonous Message tracking will be flooded with entries for these requests, example /api/members/thisserver/threads.

The table REQUESTLOG will also be flooded with records. 

Having the ability to differentiate REST calls that are monitoring from other customer calls would help specially in MAS Saas where clients can not deactivate the Default monitoring or change configuration of monitoring intervals, so the Sync Message tracking is not flooded by internal monitoring detracting from other messages sent to the system via client applications.

    I can see from the External System/ api routes there is for example a os filter, however we can not filter by specific object structure / enterprise service / publish channel, so there is no full granularity. Please kindly comment if this is not implemented it will need to be added.


    Is this able to be set : OSGETRouteHandler.java

    & mosInfo.isTrackRequests()) per Object structure? How?

    This requirement seems to be part of the the completion of the ongoing authorization services work. I am removing this from serviceability backlog .

    Several Ideas related to being able to better interpret, control and manage the synchronous message log have been put forward.  This is another important reason to look at an overhaul of that logging.
