Inventory Usage to allow save of inventory usage line with an incomplete GL Account

There shouldn't be a reason why GL Account validation is enforced when creating the inventory usage line, it is not a financial transaction, those records are not created until you complete, stage or ship. Therefore, the validation should move to change of status.

The reason why this is needed is that Issues and Transfers role-based and Maximo Mobile applications create Inventory Usage records but there isn't the ability to edit the GL (and you probably do not want to do this on a mobile device while offline). Therefore, ideally you save the inventory usage line, then use the desktop to correct the GL account before changing status.

On client sites where GL Validation is enabled, it is possible in some scenarios for the standard GL defaulting rule to not provide a complete GL string and the GL Account Navigator will need to be used. An example is inter-company charging, the maintenance team does work on assets owned by another business unit. That requires adding the intercompany BU GL segment and changing the account code to a code that will be used for cross-charging.

It would be much better to at least be able to save the Inventory Usage lines while you are picking the items from the bin and correct the GL Account from the desktop. Currently on a mobile device you would pick all the items fill out the Inventory Usage record and not be able to save - which will be frustrating.
