Inspection Templates - A dynamic framework for inspection forms

Our client is implementing MAS Manage8 and we've customized the inspection solution (using automation scripts) as per the client's requirement. They have 'templates' for inspections, they are generalized for some asset types and the questions are either shown/hidden based on the type of the asset and other conditions. These requirements could be beneficial for other customers, and they would perform better if they were part of core Maximo.

A dynamic framework for inspection forms, with following features:

  1. Inspection Template instead of Inspection Form. The template may be converted to Form later for WO Execution or Inspection on field

  2. In the Template, the ability to display/hide questions based on:

    • (2a) A condition for each question, which can be evaluated on the Asset or Location of the WO or WO Multi Asset.

    • (2b) Answers to other questions

  3. Configure the inspection template in following objects (similar to what we have currently for Inspection Form itself), so it can be converted to a form which can be executed via Maximo Mobile

    • (3a) Work Orders or its Tasks

    • (3b) WO Multi Asset

    • (3c) Routes

    • (3d) Job Plan or its Job Tasks

  4. Enhance the 'Add Condition' and 'Add Validation' features of inspection design to allow specifying the values of another object's attribute (using relationship) instead of static values.

  5. For meter based questions, an option to configure the validation or warning message if the answer is not within the meter's condition monitoring limits.

    • (5a) In the form, display the values/range needed for warning based on the asset meter's condition monitoring limits.

    • (5b) Any changes to asset meter's condition monitoring limits (after the inspection template is designed), should be reflected in the form without the user revising or modifying the inspection template.

    Ability to generate template based inspection forms on a mobile device/app will be very beneficial  for our client too
