This portal is to open public enhancement requests against the products and services belonging to IBM Sustainability Software. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Thanks for the confirmation, Jason. This makes sense for inclusion in the product.

Maybe "Default Value for New Row" should be the new name to choose. It would make the developer think of embedded / child tables in the app and the New Row button on those tables -- effectively becoming embedded training to help the developer do it right and make the customer happy the first time.
Jordan Smith, you asked, "please confirm that this is the exact area you are suggesting this change (see screenshot)?" Yes, that is the exact area I am suggesting this change be made.
You further asked, "ON an any Properties dialog that has an input mode (including Part 2 input modes), this "Default" option is causing confusion?" Yes, every Input Mode (including Part 2 Input Mode) property has this confusing feature that I am asking to be fixed.
Hello Jason,
Can you please confirm that this is the exact area you are suggesting this change (see screenshot)? ON an any Properties dialog that has an input mode (including Part 2 input modes), this "Default" option is causing confusion?
Agreed. This is a common misinterpretation, especially considering that the standard input mode "" (null/empty string) has a separate meaning.
