Changing Work Order Status with PM in List Tab

When cancelling work order in List Tab, it is throwing a system message - BMXAA8232I - Do you want to reinstate the preventive maintenance record while you are canceling PM work orders?


When I click Yes, it will throw me error - BMXAA4590E - Could not change Work Order 11590343 status to CAN.
BMXAA4507E - Work order 11590343 cannot be canceled. The specified work order cannot be canceled because it is not the last PM generated work order on the list page. Cancel the last PM generated work order before you cancel the specified work order.


And when I click No, it will allow me to CANCEL the work order.

First Work Order is the last generated Work Order against the PM that’s why we received a system message. When I click Yes, Maximo will reinstate all of the PMs for mentioned Work Orders and it will throw an error since it is not the Last Generated Work Order against the PM.


Our client is doing bulk CANCELLATION of Work Orders, and they don’t want to check if that Work Order is the last generated since they are cancelling thousands of Work Orders. Data is a mix of Work Orders that is the last generated and not.

We want that when user click Yes when the system message appears, Maximo will just reinstate the PMs of the last generated WO and CANCEL all Work Orders that is not the last generated WO.

    Thank you for the submission. Although this is not an ideal situation, it is working as designed. This could be improved, but it is not a priority for an upcoming release.
