Allow lookups to have a date filter (could be used for rolling dates etc)

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

It would be beneficial if you could have a date filter auto populate based on the current date.

E.G. Setup a lookup that shows only workorders due (todays date + 30 day) or workorders previously due (todays date - 30) by default. Still allowing the user to remove or update/adjust the filter as required.

We have some use cases where a rolling date would be beneficial to keep the # of records displayed to a user manageable.

Thanks for your time.

Thanks Ryan. We will hold this idea open as a future consideration, but can't make a commitment to any specific release at this time. Thank you for your patience.

Thanks for Reaching out Jordan. That link is the correct area I'm looking for the enhancement.

I'm currently using a default value in a Date Field however you now need an admin to update it (daily, weekly, monthly or yearly) depending on the type of rolling date your looking for in your lookup default which is not practical. Exporting the lookup.xml and importing the lookup.xml with the new date is a very manual procedure and not something you would want to do daily. (The change management alone for this sounds like it would not be fun)

The default value is currently only good if that value never changes. What I'm suggesting is some way to include grabbing the current date (from the server) and adding (or subtracting) days, months, years value to it in order to have a dynamic rolling date that the default lookup uses.

So another example would be using the Work Order Tracking application and using the Finish No Later (WORKORDER.FNLCONSTRAINT). Lets say we want a lookup default in another application that allows a user to select a workorder but we want the lookup to show todays date - 30days in to the future by default based on that field.

Currently there is no functionality that allows this as todays date would need to be hardcoded as a default value and is not dynamic.

If you need further clarification let me know and we could discuss this in a meeting as well if that is easier. Thanks for your time.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. We truly value our relationship with you and appreciate your willingness to share details about your experience, your recommendations, and ideas.

I am assuming that you are referring to a lookup in a Manage or EAM 7.6.x application such as Work Order Tracking. An example lookup in WOTrack would be "Parent Work Order". Have you attempted using the application designer to add a date column?
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/adding-default-value-lookup I believe you would be able to configure lookups.xml and create a column with Due Date and sort accordingly? Was there a specific issue you ran into using application designer to implement this?
