URL’s and certificate management: In the current setup the URLs are being split by dots ("."). Could this be done with minus signs in stead? This would drive the cost down as fewer certificates are needed.

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

Due to the splitting of URL's on dots we need bout 6 certificates per environment. These cost around 1500 euros per certificate and these certificates need to be periodically renewed. Furthermore we also need to request a security exception for each of these.

By changing the split to the minus sign, only one certificate is needed per environment. It would also tie in better with NIS2 compliance.

Hello, this would be very much need. We have been trying to configure url rewriting etc. to get all MAS URL:s under one subdomain and certificate but no success so far. And hence we have not yet been able to publish on OnPrem MAS to our external users.

This is something that has been under a lot of discussion lately (see also https://ideas.ibm.com/ideas/MSS1-I-45 and https://ideas.ibm.com/ideas/MASSWAT-I-172). We have a proposal in place to introduce path based routing which will achieve the same end result you are seeking.

For example, the only supported routing mode today results in something like the following:

Under the proposed changes a new configuration option would be introduced, that when used will result in the following instead:

This will result in the need for only a single domain (and a single certificate) per MAS instance.
