Enhance List View by Keeping the Filter Bar Fixed While Scrolling

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

In IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS), recent usability improvements have made navigation more user-friendly. Specifically:

  • The main tabs remain visible when scrolling in the application.
  • The menu remains visible while scrolling in the list screen.

These improvements enhance the user experience by keeping essential navigation elements accessible.

However, one key element is still missing: the filter bar. Currently, when a user scrolls down in a list view, the filter fields and their active selections disappear from view. This makes it harder to:

  • See which filters are applied.
  • Adjust filters quickly.
  • Maintain context while reviewing large datasets.

Request:

Enhance the list screen by fixing the filter bar at the top, so it remains visible while scrolling—just like the menu. This will allow users to:

  • Always see applied filters.
  • Easily modify filters without scrolling back up.
  • Improve workflow efficiency, especially in larger datasets.

Business Impact:

  • Prevents user confusion about which filters are applied.
  • Aligns with the existing usability improvements for consistency.
