- Data Management (Truncate or delete of historical data from tables)

- Year To Date Counts from Customer Requests: ~10

- Sample Cases: Target migrated from Flex to MAS and required major efforts from SRE due to TB of data existing within main schema. Efforts for this took months and resulted in SRE leading and coordinating efforts.

- Impact: Database can grow exponentially, without customers awareness and also no ability to “archive” the data. Capacity and performance can also lead to issues due to costs (database size) and also data fetching when millions of records exists that can be moved to archived solution.

- Backout Plan: If truncating / deleting issues appear, manual restore from DBA is required.

- How Does This Improve The Offering: Capacity, performance and also reporting management can be improved with customers awareness of data and data size.
