Auto-Refresh Capability for Start Centers

Start Centers are essential for users to monitor KPIs, work assignments, and system statuses. However, currently, users must manually refresh the Start Center to view updated information. This is inefficient in dynamic environments where data changes rapidly.

We propose adding an auto-refresh feature to the Start Centers, allowing widgets and portlets (e.g., Result Sets, KPIs, Graphs) to refresh at configurable intervals (e.g., every 5, 10, or 15 minutes). This will greatly improve usability, situational awareness, and decision-making, especially for users in supervisory or dispatch roles.

Real-time visibility without manual refresh.

Improved operational efficiency.

Customizable refresh intervals per user or Start Center.

This feature could be optional and configurable via system settings or user preferences to avoid performance issues in large environments.

    With modern web socket capabilities, result sets and such SHOULD be able to auto-update without setting a specific refresh interval. This would allow new Service Requests to immediately appear on a help desks start center or op dashboard. React (which the newer Graphite apps are based on) handles this natively, it just needs to be implemented by IBM.
