RELATED IDEAS

Data separation activities at the business unit level where Maximo is structed with One Org and One site.

Currently there is no feature or out of the box functionality available to do the data separation at the business unit level where the Maximo is structured with One Org and One Site model due to business requirement.

Two solution we found.
1. Location - Segregate the data based on the location setup which is not going to suite business requirement as work orders, assets etc.. needs to be clubbed for the different business unit level. Again the internal restriction cannot be done.

Example:

Org - A
Site - A
Business Unit - B1, B2, B3

Here B3 should be able to access B1 data, B3 should be able to access B2 data but B1, B2 should not be able to access B3 data. 
Many internal constraints we have but just given an sample example.

2. Custom field creation for business unit- Creating a custom field at all the relevant table is a tedious task which consumes considerable build effort and as well as testing effort to make sure that custom business field is working as per the business needs.

If IBM can check this feasibility to see if this can be planned for any future releases in Suite - Manage.
