Validate decimal separator in meter readings based on language/locale, blocking incorrect input.

Currently, when entering GAUGE meter readings in Manage or Mobile, the behavior changes depending on the language/locale:

  • In Spanish, using a comma (,) works, but a period (.) is accepted and saved incorrectly (e.g., 1.9 stored as 19).

  • In English, the opposite happens: a period (.) works, but a comma (,) may lead to incorrect storage.

This inconsistency causes inaccurate meter data across the system.

We propose adding locale-based input validation so that if the user enters a decimal separator that does not match the configured language, the system blocks the entry and shows a validation message. For example:

  • Spanish locale → only comma allowed.

  • English locale → only period allowed.

This ensures consistent and correct data entry across Manage and Mobile.

This is a defect, and has recently been fixed in 9.0 on the framework component side.

I see mention in case TS020117196 that there is ongoing investigation into this issue and why it may not be reproducible in this scenario. We should continue to treat this as a defect.
