Recalculation methodology of Regular Hours value in Work Order Tracking

Currently, when adding labor to a Work Order on the Actuals tab in Work Order tracking, if values are present in the Start and End time fields, then the regular hours values are deleted and then the Start or End time values are changed, the regular hours are not automatically calculated.

Steps :

  1. Add labor line to work order

  2. Add start and end time to labor line (regular hours are calculated automatically)

  3. Remove regular hours, start and end time

  4. Add start and end time

  5. Regular hours is not calculated automatically anymore

Lacking documentation and based on historical records, we can assume, that once the regular hours are manually changed by the user, these are not automatically updated again by Maximo, based on Maximo business logic that it does not overwrites the manual values. This would be to leave the option for the user to enter their own values instead of recalculation.

Looking at current customer expectation and business/asset management processes there is a need for a wider discussion on automatic hour recalculation.
