SERVICEABILITY - "Cost" fields across Manage needs to be updated to a larger length

The cost fields in Manage needs to be updated in a general and sustainable way. We are seeing an increase in cases where errors similar to:
You entered: XXXX The specified value XXXX exceeds the maximum field length for the Unit Cost field. The maximum length is specified in the Database Configuration application.
are encountered by customers passing trough different stages of currency changes.
While technotes exists to address it locally, an approach based on current realities related to economical process , is needed in the future. An architectural discussion with product designers will be required
