Blocking adding Job Plans to completed work orders

For us if you complete a work order, you indicate that you did the job as defined.  If you allow someone to add a job plan to a COMP work order then you are changing the rules after it was completed.  With certain settings, like the Parent Changes Children Status you can even make it look like the tasks where checked off by someone who just completed the work.  But at the time they added labor and COMP'ed the WO there were no job plan steps.  We believe that you should not able to add a job plan to a COMPed WO.

We can add a CEM rule, TRM Rule or Automation script to block this but are requesting this be implemented so that it propagates to all apps and the handheld devices.

Thank you for the Idea. This is an unexpected functionality, and we would recommend looking into customizations that are causing this. Natively, Maximo does not allow you to add/remove a job plan on a work order when the status is not WAPPR on a work order. Additionally, you have the capability to manage what planned items can be added/removed/edited in each status through the organization's application through ‘Work Order Options’ > ‘Edit Rules’. This will allow you to control in what status you can edit plans without the need of CEM Rule.
