I would like HTTP compression feature used in MAS and Manage to be customizable.

I would like to be able to customize "HTTP compression" functionality used in MAS (and Manage).
Specifically, I am seeking the following customizations:

・Ability to enable or disable HTTP compression
・Ability to specify the compression algorithm used by HTTP compression (e.g., gzip, br)
・Ability to enable or disable HTTP compression and specify the algorithm based on the URL or Content-Type

Enabling the above customizations would provide the following benefits:
・Improved compatibility when integrating MAS with existing systems
・Avoidance of issues related to the HTTP compression feature
・Optimization of network performance through control based on content characteristics

I understand that MAS and Manage each implement different web server components. (I understand that MAS implements Node.js and libraries, while Manage implements WAS Liberty.)
I would like to be able to customize the HTTP compression functionality in both MAS and Manage.  (MAS is the higher priority.)

Note: "HTTP compression" is a technology in which a web server compresses the data it sends, and the browser decompresses it.

    As mentioned above, being able to customize HTTP compression makes it easier to integrate MAS with our existing internal systems.
    It is not due to network performance constraints.

    Thanks again for your idea.

    After review we have decided we would need to see broader market interest in such a feature to consider adding support. We will leave this idea in "Future Consideration" state for a period of time to see if other clients see value in their deployments.

    It would be good to understand in more detail what actual pain points client are having right now related to this:

    • What systems are currently facing compatibility/other issues due to HTTP compression?

    • Are there specific areas where there are performance problems being seen today?
