When navigating the system Error messages provide no actual indication of error.

Regarding errors when you enter a value in a field, and multiple records are returned. When entering a value in a field that pulls values from a table, such as Work Type or Work Group, if you enter a value, then tab, move along and populate other fields, if there are multiple values to select from that meet the entered criteria, when you save, you get an error. The problem is that the error message gives no indication where the error is. That would be acceptable if the field where the error is occurring was somewhat easy to spot. Eventually, the user will find the field with a “Select Value” icon populated, indicating to choose a value from the list, but the magnifying glass is next to the select value icon in the offending field, and is grey and hard to spot. The field or the magnifying glass should be highlighted in a bright color or the system message should indicate the offending field.

Hello @Guest and @Guest . Thank you for entering this idea.
Whenever you receive the error BMXAA8123E, you should see:
    1. A red outline and red alert icon on any fields that are causing the error
    2. A red icon in any tabs that contain errors
    See attached screen shots.

I would say that if you do not see these visual queues, then there is a bug in the system. I am unable to reproduce these issues in 9.1 doing basic testing. Can you provide more detailed steps?

I came here to submit this same idea. I have had a number of users call me asking for help with records that will not save and every time it has been because they did not notice the tiny magnifying glass. This is particularly difficult to detect in apps where there are multiple tabs. The user may fill out a field on the first tab and then move on to another tab before attempting a save and when they get a generic error, they assume it is on the current tab.
