Enable Color-Coded Resource Availability for Faster Scheduling Decisions in Calendar application

Why is it useful?

The current scheduler in Calendar application displays all unavailable resources in the same visual format, requiring users to open individual records to determine the reason for unavailability. This increases planning time, creates unnecessary navigation, and raises the risk of assigning resources incorrectly. Introducing visual differentiation through color-coding enables users to immediately understand the type of unavailability, allowing faster and more informed scheduling decisions while reducing manual effort.

The feature would benefit all users involved in workforce planning and resource allocation, including:

• Dispatchers – Quickly identify available and unavailable resources and understand the reason for absence without opening records.

• Schedulers and Planners – Build and adjust schedules more efficiently while minimizing planning errors.

• Configurable through Maximo's existing conditional UI configuration rather than hard-coded.

• Applied automatically whenever the scheduler loads or refreshes.

• Consistent across Scheduler, Graphical Assignment, and other planning views (where applicable).

• Accompanied by a legend so users can easily interpret the meaning of each color.
