UI Design - Add the ability to move/remove sidebar.

When using Maximo in all versions 7.x and prior, I had the sidebar removed so that all the options / actions / etc. would be found in the vertical space.

Maximo / Manage uses a lot of horizontal space on the screen, and anything which is taking away from the visible area forces the user to scroll to find meaningful content which happens to be located in the far right of the display.

Prime example is managing a Purchase Request or Purchase Order. The delete row button is located on the far right of the summary line, which requires a page zoom value of 50% to get to the button without scrolling (While the sidebar is collapsed).

Horizontal screen space is precious, and MAS UI has increased most elements on the screen enough that it takes scrolling to get to what's needed.

Would like to be able to reclaim horizontal space.

    Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. Unfortunately, after evaluating this idea, we don’t believe it aligns with our product strategy and roadmap. Therefore, we will not be considering it for inclusion in our product at this time. Thank you again for your feedback.

Thank you for submitting this idea.
We understand that the Carbon Design System of MAS has increased the likelihood of horizontal scrolling, and have several options available to mitigate this.
    1. As of 9.2, the setting to collapse the action bar exists. It is in the "Default information" dialog, and persists as a personalization, hiding the action panel by default based on your preference. See attachment.
    2. There are a few legacy applications that have a large number of table columns out of the box, and this is the most common cause of horizontal scrolling. To avoid customer disruptions, we have hesitated from changing the XMLs of out-of-the-box tables in new versions, but we always recommend removing table columns using application designer that are not useful for sorting purposes. Instead, you can display secondary data points as a field in the expanded row.
    3. While Carbon Design does recommend larger spacing and fonts for usability, you can reduce the size and padding globally using the CSS customization tooling available in Suite > Administration > Configurations page:
    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/masv-and-l/cd?topic=interface-updating-user
There is a template available in the above documentation that will apply similar sizing to 7.6.3's Tivoli13 skin.
