Adjust Maximo Toolbar Button Alignment to Left-Aligned

Description / Details

Currently, in Maximo, primary navigation trees and key action controls are positioned on the left side of the screen, while the top toolbar buttons (such as Save, New, Search, Route Workflow, etc.) are fixed to the far right.

We request a system property or UI configuration option that allows administrators to change the top toolbar button alignment from right-aligned to left-aligned.

Use Case / Business Impact

  • Usability & Ergonomics: On wide or high-resolution monitors (e.g., 4K or 21:9 screens), users naturally focus their work on the left side of the screen, where the navigation tree, main data fields, and primary action controls are located. Having the top toolbar buttons positioned at the far top-right creates a severe physical distance between the main working area and key toolbar actions.

  • Efficiency & Strain Reduction: This layout forces users into continuous, long-distance mouse movements back and forth across the screen (e.g., entering data or selecting from the left-hand navigation tree, then moving all the way to the upper-right corner to click "Save"). For high-volume data entry operators, this repetitive travel significantly hinders efficiency and causes physical wrist and eye fatigue.

  • Proposed Solution: Providing a built-in option to align the top toolbar buttons to the left—placing them directly above the main navigation and input controls—will greatly streamline daily user workflows and optimize UI ergonomics for modern widescreen setups.
