Expose Where Clause for Work Queue From Operational Dashboard

When working with Work Queues in Operational Dashboards, it would be helpful to expose the underlying query criteria used by the queue. This would simplify troubleshooting and make it easier to replicate the same result set in traditional Maximo applications.

Today, Start Center result sets provide an Open in Application option that allows users to navigate directly to the underlying application and view the resulting records. From there, the query can be inspected to understand why a record is or is not included in the result set. This capability is extremely useful when troubleshooting user questions.

With Work Queues, the same level of visibility is not readily available. To determine the underlying criteria, a user must:

  1. Identify the Work Queue name from the Operational Dashboard.
  2. Open the Manage Work Queues application.
  3. Locate the queue definition.
  4. Note the associated application and configuration details.
  5. Open the queue from the corresponding application.

This process can be time-consuming and often requires access to the Manage Work Queues application, which many end users do not have.

Rather than replicating the full Open in Application functionality, a simpler enhancement would be to provide a Queue Details action directly within the Operational Dashboard. This could display information such as:

  • Queue name
  • Associated application
  • Object structure/object name
  • Queue definition details
  • Underlying where clause or query criteria

Providing this information directly from the dashboard would significantly improve troubleshooting, reduce administrative effort, and help users understand why specific records are included in or excluded from a Work Queue without requiring additional application access.
