Prevent Maximo from Allowing Users to Delete PMs that Generated Work Orders

Maximo allows users to delete PMs even if utilized on Work Orders (as long as they are history Work Orders). Enabling this causes referential integrity issues because the PMNUM field is still stored on the history Work Orders and users reviewing the Work Orders will be unable to find the PM to explain why the record was created. Also, perhaps more confusing is that new PMs can be created with that same number and users will think they are somehow related even though they are not. We think Maximo should prevent users from deleting PMs once they've been generated.

    Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. We truly value our relationship with you and appreciate your willingness to share details about your experience, your recommendations, and ideas. Our team has reviewed this enhancement request and determined that it is not a candidate for inclusion in the product. There are configuration options, using sigoptions or an automation scripts that restricts the ability to delete the PM if there are any references on a WO regardless of status.
