Optimization of EAR rebuild & redeploy to reduce Maximo production Downtime

The objective is to find a way to externalize custom java code and specific properties (contained in the maximo/applications/maximo/properties folder) to have in the EAR file only the Maximo standard code and in the second part only properties and custom code.

For example:
- to pull the properties.jar file out of the EAR file : it will save time in a clustered environment, building one time the EAR, and deploying the same EAR file accross all the cluster node; then, build each properties.jar file and attach them to each cluster node.
- to set a shared library in the Application Server in which all custom code will be pushed : when a new version of java classes is pushed in this library, the EAR file will not be rebuild / redeployed and then it will save a lot of time

Mainly today for one modfied custom java class, in a clustered environment with X nodes, we have to rebuild and redeploy X times the EAR (build time : 10min average, redeploy : 30min average), but 99% of the files in the EAR didn't change.

    Thank you for the request. Within Maximo Application Suite and with the use of OCP there have been many improvements to the deployment and management of EAR files. If you are still seeing specific issues please submit another idea request based on the updated technology.
