In the Database Configuration application, it is not possible to change the Length or Scale of an individual AMOUNT attribute. The Length and Scale fields are READ-ONLY on the Attributes tab when the MaxType is AMOUNT. It appears that the only way to change the Length or Scale of AMOUNT columns is through the "Field Length and Format" dialog which will change all AMOUNT fields. In 4.1.1 and 5.2, the default AMOUNT Length & Scale would default when a column was changed to AMOUNT, but the user could still override it.
Ideally, we would like to see the logic that propagates changes on the “Field Length and Format” dialog to the related attributes and have those values simply act as default values like they did in 5.2 and earlier. But at a minimum, we would like to see the Length left EDITABLE in Database Configuration for attributes with MaxType AMOUNT, INTEGER, or SMALLINT and the Scale for attributes with MaxType AMOUNT along with eliminating the associated logic in the Integrity Checker.

This Idea (RFE# 151076) was created for Case TS005098265. I am interested in knowing how enhancement will be implemented to determine if it will resolve a related issue reported on Case TS005098384 or if I should submit a separate Idea for that.
