Extended Drilldown - Show Path to Top - loses focus on current selected Location

Extended Drilldown does not work in the same fashion as the standard drilldown when using "Show Path to Top".

Focus is lost from the original location and all paths are opened so that the user can no longer identify the location currently selected.

This was reported after demonstrating the fault to IBM. We believe this to be a fault / bug but we got this reply:

Dev has completed their investigation into the difference in behavior between the standard drilldown and the extended drilldown, their findings is that although the behavior is different, it was implemented this way due to a limitation of the framework, the original drilldown is based on one table (LOCATIONS table) on the Locations tab, however, the Extended (new) drilldown has a mixture of objects in single tree. While they acknowledge that Show Path to Top in old drilldown is one path from the current node to the top node - a clear path but in extended drilldown, it found the top node and behaves from the top/down of the drilldown, a fix is outside the scope of an IFIX and therefore has been declined for an APAR.

Their recommendation is that this is a good candidate for an Enhancement Request .

To engage this process clients are no longer required to approach Support Services for Enhancement Requests.

Due to the nature of the RFE tool and the open communications within the Community,

we prefer the client to control the privacy of their RFE and to communicate directly with

the IBM Product Management team and Community peers; as such we recommend that the client

submit the Request for Enhancement from the IBM RFE Community

Tool ;, this site allows our clients to create

and manage their own enhancement requests.

This appears to be a bug - not an enhancement - please review the categorisation. We need to be able to justify to customers why this functionality is no longer fit for purpose
