Track Bin Size and Physical Location in Storeroom

Inventory plays a critical role in Maximo operations. Today it's not possible to visualize where bins are located in the storeroom. It's also not possible to track the dimensions of the bins or of the items so a storeroom clerk has to know where to store the items based on available space in the bins. This can be especially problematic for larger items where existing inventory may "fill" a bin and require it being stored in a separate bin.

If Maximo is aware of the quantity on hand (which it is already), the dimensions of the item (part of this RFE), and the dimensions of the bin (part of this RFE), it would be able to assist the user in determining which bin to store the item in. This can drastically help save time during the receiving process.

Thank you for your submission. At this time there are no plans to implement this capability in the next 18-24 months.

In the past we were looking at expanded Maximo to be able to record bin size. This is very critical information when you are paying for storeroom space by square or cubic feet. This is another way the Maximo could assist the Maximo clients to make us more profitable and competive.
