Maximo Support For Oracle Partitioning

We have a global Oracle instance containing over 70 plants hosting our Maximo data. At times we are having performance issues and our DBAs have recommended that we partition our database to get better performance. Most reporting is still done on a plant (site) basis, so having the data partitioned that way would yield better performance since a smaller set of data would need to searched. Maximo needs to support Oracle partitioning to allow us to use that feature of Oracle and allow efficient searches of our Maximo data.

table partitioning is required for an another customer in India who have got over 100+ sites data in single maximo instance. they are using DB2 and facing performance issues due to huge datasize.

We have a number of customers who would benefit from this.

A number of customers have invested heavily in ORACLE and do not want to move to other platforms e.g. DB2.
Implementing this will deliver significant benefits to customers who have to store large amounts of data e.g. for regulatory requirements.

Custom workarounds can be deployed but then they have to be reapplied after DB Configuration operations. Applying these custom workarounds is unsatisfactory and increases the complexity of relatively simple changes e.g. adding columns.

I'm happy to talk to IBM Development to help them understand the importance of this if required. My contact details are in my profile.
