Export report to XLSX as single table/sheet

Currently, when exporting a report to XLSX, the data gets split into multiple sheets. It would be helpful if there were an option to export to XLSX where the data is all in a single table/sheet.

  • We understand why .pdf format was designed to retain the "page layout design format". But when opting for an Excel spreadsheet format, we typically want a single page of just data.

  • The "splitting to different tabs behavior" essentially rules out using the XLSX option, which is disappointing in 2021 (XLSX has been around since 2007).

  • To fit on a single tab, reports have to be generated in the older XLS spreadsheet format, which results in much larger files sizes and also spills onto a new tab after the older maximum limit of 65536 rows.

  • XLSX is generally the preferred file format due to compatibility issues with XLS.

For the reasons mentioned above, I think it would only make sense for there to be an option to export to XLSX -- as a single table/sheet.

    There is also a real problem as the downloaded Excel files contains Non-Breaking Spaces as opposed to a normal space character.This does not match the value in the DB.
    When these values are copied from Excel and used elsewhere nothing ever matches it as the space character is different from a Non-Breaking Space but this is invisible to the naked eye so causes a great deal of problems.

    Ensure when downloading an Excel file that only spaces are used so they actually match the content in the database fields correctly.

    We also want this functionality to implemented. Client requirement is to have an option to export to XLSX where the data is all in a single table/sheet.
