Export report to XLSX as single table/sheet

Currently, when exporting a report to XLSX, the data gets split into multiple sheets. It would be helpful if there were an option to export to XLSX where the data is all in a single table/sheet.

  • We understand why .pdf format was designed to retain the "page layout design format". But when opting for an Excel spreadsheet format, we typically want a single page of just data.

  • The "splitting to different tabs behavior" essentially rules out using the XLSX option, which is disappointing in 2021 (XLSX has been around since 2007).

  • To fit on a single tab, reports have to be generated in the older XLS spreadsheet format, which results in much larger files sizes and also spills onto a new tab after the older maximum limit of 65536 rows.

  • XLSX is generally the preferred file format due to compatibility issues with XLS.

For the reasons mentioned above, I think it would only make sense for there to be an option to export to XLSX -- as a single table/sheet.
