It's frustrating that we can't make small changes to custom fields/tables without needing an admin mode outage.
Is there a way to make things easier?
For example, if I wanted to add a custom field to CLASSSTRUCTURE, could Maximo do the following?
Create a temporary table with a ID column and the custom column that I want to add.
Maximo would provide a mechanism where we could temporarily use the table as if it were a column in CLASSSTRUCTURE.
As mentioned, this would just be a temporary mechanism, but Maximo would still honor the data in the temporary table. At least, at a minimal level -- as in, let us use the custom field in the detail tab in application designer.
Then, approx. 2 weeks later, during scheduled maintenance, the temporary mechanism would be migrated to a proper CLASSSTRUCTURE field. And the temporary table/mechanism would be deleted.
Would something like that be possible? Thanks.
