Filter table window on other fields

In applications, we have tabs (non-list view) --> table windows. Within table windows, we have table columns and table details sections.

I often want to search the table window on fields that are not included in the table columns.

For example, in Database Configuration --> Attributes tab:

I want to filter the object attributes on fields like PERSISTENT, CLASSNAME, DEFAULTVALUE, COMPLEXEXPRESSION etc.
Those fields aren't in the table columns so I can't filter on them.

It would be great if it were possible to filter on those other fields without:

  • Adding them to the table columns via application designer (there's only so much room; I don't want to add fields just for one-off searches)

  • Using an SQL client (takes more time than I'd like to bring it up and write the SQL query, etc.)

Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. We truly value our relationship with you and appreciate your willingness to share details about your experience, your recommendations, and ideas.

I am sorry to inform you that our team has evaluated the request and has determined that it cannot be implemented at this time in the base Manage product. However, we are modernizing the user experience of Maximo, which includes a modernized data table where searching against related fields will be much simpler, as the table column can be added and filtered on-the-fly, without the use of application designer.

If you would like to be involved in the features of the new Maximo data table or other Maximo modernization efforts at IBM, please email smithjor@us.ibm.com to become part of our sponsored user group, which is a program where you and people in your organization become active participants in the Maximo design process, working alongside our design teams to help us create great future experiences for real target users.
