'Get Value' action type

In an escalation/action:

It would be handy if there were a way to get a value (via an autoscript, etc.) and return the value as a variable to the escalation's SQL condition.

For example, an action & automation script could be used to get the value from a web service:

https://sampleserver6.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/ServiceRequest/MapServer/1/query?where=SUBMITDT+%3C+DATE+%272018-05-11%27&outFields=*&f=pjson&returnCountOnly=true

{
"count": 2
}

And return the value of 2 to the escalation...as a bind variable.

Escalation SQL condition:

:&ACTIONVAR& > 0

The escalation would only run if the action/autoscript/web service returned a value that is greater than 0.

Would that be something that IBM could consider implementing?

    Thanks for taking time to submit this idea. its a very good suggestion - and something we have contemplated doing before - we will consider this for a future release. This will go into autoscript RFEs.
