Honor global data restriction in child WO table control

Scenario - table control doesn't honor global data restriction:

(WOTRACK-->Plans/Actuals tabs-->Child WO table control)

I created a data restriction that would make the WO.PARENT attribute read-only -- WHERE ISTASK=0.

Unfortunately, the data restriction wasn't honored by the Child WO table control in the Plans tab or Actuals tab:

IBM Support's explanation in TS007672774:

"I performed tests and investigation about this issue, and confirmed this behavior, when you create a restriction on the PARENT attribute in the WORKORDER, it doesn't work when the record is created in the workorder's Plans and Actuals tabs, that's because there is an internal class in WOACTIVITY OBJECT, which is the object used in the tabs Plans and Actuals that is responsible for filling the parent in the workorder, when the record of a child OS or task is created, in this case it does not depend on the user who creates the task or the child OS."

Could IBM consider enhancing Maximo so that table controls (like child WOs) honor global data restrictions?

    The screenshot shows a data restriction on the object WORKORDER and not WOACTIVITY. Can you clarify the request? Global data restrictions for read-only/required should work on child objects in general. Is the request that data restrictions on WORKORDER apply to all views based on WORKORDER? Or is the request that WOACTIVITY.PARENT does not enforce a data restriction when it is explicitly provided and the screenshot was incorrect?

    If it's that all data restrictions on WORKORDER should apply to all views, each object is treated as unique because rules will differ between objects even though they share the same core underlying table. WORKORDER is utilized by Changes & Releases for example and there is data that you may want to make read-only or required on a WORKORDER that you would not want to require on a Change. Similarly there are additional extensions of WORKORDER by industry solutions/add-ons.
