Harmonization of asset template and rotating item functionality for asset creation

At the moment with partial overlapping functionality associated with assets created from Rotating Items and Asset Template. With the current design of the system, we will be

  • Creating assets from rotating items and applying asset templates to apply spares

  • Creating assets from asset templates

  • Creating assets from asset templates and then applying a rotating item (for an asset that has not been acquired through inventory processes, but is the same

Has there been any harmonization of the asset template and rotating item functionality that will remove the need for using both methods?

Can there be a provision in the asset template to attach a rotating item so that the asset creation from the asset template can inherit both item and template along with spares?

Also, if the asset is created using a supply chain process then it must inherit the asset template that is linked to the rotating item.
