MAS Mobile device pin on server

In 8.11 when the app is configured as a shared device, the user is forced to login online. We'd like the key to encrypt/decrypt the local database to be returned from the server instead of generating it and storing it in the device keychain. By storing it in the device keychain, the app is requiring a device pin to be configured. These shared devices will often not have a device pin configured and configuring them to each of the devices adds complexity with no benefit since they would need to be the same across all devices at the site.

    Hello Jonathan,

Thank you for submitting this idea.

Sending/Receiving the encryption key over the network would be flagged as a security issue because the communication can be intercepted in one of the steps that is outside our control and the key exposed.

We are exploring other options to reduce the deployment complexity and don't create a security issue.

    Thank you!
