"Required" text should display only if user do not enter the required info (e.g. username) and clicks on Continue button on log in screen of Maximo Mobile Technician application (MAS Login)

Once we open the Maximo Mobile Technician application we get Server address screen. When we enter the server address details and click on Continue button, we redirect to the log in screen of Maximo Mobile Technician application. Initially the cursor by default point to the Username field of log in screen. If we click anywhere outside of username field without entering value for username, it shows "Required" text in red color below Username field and Continue button becomes read-only. As per PMR team, it's working by designed. Once someone clicks somewhere outside the username box, that maybe interprets that someone is trying to continue without required information, but after the username is written, the Continue button is enabled and works normally.

But this working has below impact on our environment and the operation of our work:

The user experience that the user may get confused if they click outside the username field and required text appears.

As mobile device has smaller screen and suddenly if user have not done any action, but they are getting required message on the screen so they may get confused. Hence, it is a bad user experience and customer (IKEA) can raise concern about it.

So, the Required text should display only if user do not enter the required info (e.g. username) and clicks on Continue button.

We had raised the PMR for this issue. PMR team had suggested to raise an enhancement request in the Ideas portal.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. We truly value our relationship with you and appreciate your willingness to share details about your experience, your recommendations, and ideas.

Our team has evaluated the request and has determined that it is resolved in MAS 8.11 and later versions, as the design of the log-in screen has changed. However, this feature will not be back-ported to older versions of MAS, and will require an upgrade.

If you would like to be involved in the features of these new applications, or other Maximo modernization efforts at IBM, please email smithjor@us.ibm.com to become part of our sponsored user group, which is a program where you and people in your organization become active participants in the Maximo design process, working alongside our design teams to help us create great future experiences for real target users.
