Maximo Mobile (Techmobile) - When using inspection forms in the multi asset screen, the application should take the user back to the last place they were on the app when exiting from the inspection form. Currently it resets the view to the top of the work order.

Why is it Useful?

Efficiency:

  • Time-saving: Users do not have to scroll back to their previous position, which saves time and effort, especially in lengthy forms or detailed work orders.
  • Reduced Redundancy: Eliminates the need to repeatedly navigate through the same sections, improving overall workflow efficiency.

User Experience:

  • Consistency: Provides a more seamless and intuitive user experience by maintaining the context of where the user left off.
  • Reduced Frustration: Minimizes user frustration caused by having to repeatedly locate their last position, leading to higher satisfaction.

Accuracy:

  • Focus Maintenance: Helps users maintain focus and continuity, reducing the likelihood of errors or omissions that can occur when navigating back to the relevant section.

Who Would Benefit from It?

Field Inspectors:

  • Technicians: Performing inspections across multiple assets can resume their work from the exact point they left off without unnecessary navigation.
  • Safety Inspectors: Conducting detailed safety inspections can ensure they do not miss any sections by being taken back to their last location.

Administrative Staff:

  • Data Entry Personnel: Entering or reviewing data within inspection forms can continue from their last position, improving data management efficiency.
  • Supervisors: Reviewing inspection reports can save time and maintain continuity when checking detailed sections of the forms.

Managers and Auditors:

  • Facility Managers: Overseeing multiple inspections and ensuring all sections are reviewed thoroughly without repeatedly scrolling through the entire document.
  • Compliance Auditors: Conducting audits on inspection forms can resume from the last checked point, enhancing the review process.

How Should It Work?

State Preservation:

  • Save Position: The application should save the user's current scroll position or section when they exit the inspection form.
  • Return to Position: When the user re-enters the inspection form, the application should automatically return them to the saved position.

User Interface:

  • Smooth Navigation: Ensure that the transition back to the saved position is smooth and does not disrupt the user's workflow.
  • Visual Indicators: Optionally provide a subtle visual indicator to show that the user has been returned to their previous position.
