Establish a definitive association between meter readings (MEASUREMENT and METERREADING tables) and inspection responses (INSPFIELDRESULT)

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

Objective:

To enhance the Maximo system by establishing a definitive association between meter readings and inspection responses, ensuring comprehensive data capture for auditing, reporting, and post-inspection verification purposes.

Current System Functionality (as of MAS Manage 8.7.12):

At present, when an inspection involving meter-based questions is executed and completed, the corresponding inspection answers are recorded in the meter reading tables (MEASUREMENT or METERREADING tables, depending on the type of meter used in the inspection question). The Maximo system currently stores only the user and date information in these meter reading tables. However, it does not retain the inspection result number along with the inspection field number or ID.

Proposed Enhancement:

We propose enhancing the system to ensure that the inspection result number, along with the inspection field number (or ID), is also stored in the meter reading tables. This enhancement will involve:

Modification of Data Storage Protocols:

Updating the MEASUREMENT and METERREADING tables to include fields for storing the inspection result number and inspection field number (or ID).

System Integration:

Ensuring that during the execution and completion of inspections, the system captures and writes the inspection result number and inspection field number (or ID) to the respective meter reading tables.

Data Consistency and Integrity:

Helps clients implementing offline validation checks to ensure the accuracy and consistency of the data being recorded, using birt or BI reports

Conclusion:

By implementing these enhancements, we will significantly improve the Maximo system's ability to manage and utilize inspection data, leading to better operational efficiency and data reliability.
