Add support for case-insensitive searches using special non-ascii characters

In Maximo Mobile, on a device, regardless of the specific app, end users currently need to consider upper/lower case when searching for records using special (non-ascii) characters such as Å,Ä,Ö in the Swedish language to give an example.

This means that an end user searching for a record using one or more special characters will only find what they are searching for if the search matches the record perfectly with regard to upper/lower case. For instance, a record with description containing the Swedish word "LÅS" would not be returned if a user searches for "lås" in lower case letters. This is not the case with roman letters (ascii characters) A-Z where the search returns results even if casing does not match between the search phrase and result.

Because of this, end-users are struggling to find records in their native language, which causes confusion and wastes time at the end of the day. This of course affects all languages using special characters outside of the regular A-Z, and not only Swedish. Ideally, searches in all languages should be handled in the same way. Currently there is an inconsistency between languages. Is this something that could be considered for a future release?

I'm creating this idea as this is not considered a bug (see case ref in IBM notes below). Thank you for considering this functionality.
