Advanced offline formula calculations on Inspection Forms

The attached PDF shows examples of the formulas this client utilises in field inspections.

Key requirements are:

  • Formulas need to work offline

  • Formula parameters can be:

    • previously answered questions in the form, including formula calculated questions themselves (eg: result of calculated question X is used as parameter into calculated question Y)

    • asset specification values

    • constant values such as Pi or natural logarithm

  • formulas are quite unique in nature and can be complex, there needs to be flexibility for the client to write their own calculations

  • results of a calculation need to be tied to a meter type question so it is recorded as an asset measurement upon completion

  • exception handling:

    • if asset specification values is not populated for a certain question, system should be able to pull this value from an actual question in the form

    • system should be able to handle errors gracefully: eg: divide by zero or invalid/empty parameters in a formula
