Request: Expand Maximo Mobile Functionality to Support Desktop-Style Requisitions

Request: Expand Maximo Mobile Functionality to Support Desktop-Style Requisitions

Our current desktop Maximo environment allows technicians to generate Desktop Requisitions (Reqs) for Materials, Items, and Services. However, Maximo Mobile currently supports requisition creation only for Items, which limits field technicians’ ability to request non-stocked materials and services directly from the mobile application.

Enhancing Maximo Mobile to support Desktop Requisitions for Materials and Services—in addition to Items—would provide technicians with significantly greater flexibility while working in the field. This improvement would:

  • Enable the request of non-stocked materials and services without leaving the mobile workflow.
  • Reduce the need for technicians to contact buyers for service-related or non-stock procurement.
  • Eliminate unnecessary trips back to an office or desktop workstation solely to create a requisition.
  • Keep technicians in the field and improve overall productivity.
  • Better align mobile capabilities with existing desktop functionality and thus enhance adoption.

We are requesting development of expanded requisition capabilities in Maximo Mobile to support these workflows and better meet operational needs.
