Enable Zoom In/Out Functionality in Maximo Mobile Windows Client

We request the ability to zoom in and out within the Maximo Mobile Windows Client application, similar to the browser zoom capabilities available in desktop web browsers (for example, Ctrl + Plus, Ctrl + Minus, Ctrl + Mouse Wheel, and Ctrl + 0 to reset zoom).

Currently, users running Maximo Mobile on Windows devices, including ruggedized laptops, tablets, and Panasonic Toughbook field devices, are unable to adjust the application scale to meet individual viewing preferences or varying screen resolutions. A built-in zoom capability would significantly improve usability, accessibility, and user productivity.

While Windows provides accessibility features such as display scaling, text size adjustments, and Magnifier, these options are not practical substitutes for application-level zoom. They affect the entire operating system rather than only Maximo Mobile, can impact the usability of other applications, and often do not provide the flexibility needed by field users working in varying conditions. As a result, users continue to experience difficulties reading work order details, asset information, inspections, forms, and other application content.

In addition, we have observed that zoom functionality appears to work in the Maximo Mobile Debug Windows Client, indicating that the underlying platform may already support this capability. Enabling equivalent zoom controls in the production Windows Client would provide consistency across environments and deliver immediate value to end users with potentially minimal implementation effort.
