Allow DNS forwarding to resolve in order to shorten the URL for users

Client would like to provide a shorter URL for their users to access MAS SaaS on the browser. Currently, the environment URL provided by IBM is: 'https://main.home.dev.suite.maximo.com'

Client has created a publicly resolvable CNAME record of 'https://maximo-dev.<domain>.com' and is trying to forward to the environment URL above. A certificate mismatch is being thrown.

This should work if IBM can import the client domain certificate onto the server so it will resolve.

In a sample DEV, UA, PROD deployment, the goal is to achieve the following DNS forwarding:
https://maximo-dev.<domain>.com (publicly resolvable) DNS forward to https://main.home.dev.suite.maximo.com
https://maximo-ua.<domain>.com (publicly resolvable) DNS forward to https://main.home.ua.suite.maximo.com
https://maximo.<domain>.com (publicly resolvable) DNS forward to https://main.home.prod.suite.maximo.com

We have plans (subject to change) to provide the following:

Install MAS with a single non-wildcard certificate, using either manual certificate management or certificate-manager

Install MAS and operate under a single DNS ANAME record

Provide an ability to change between path-based and domain-based routing modes (with downtime) with no manual actions taken other than changing the settings in the Suite.core.mas.ibm.com resource

Looking onto this. One issue is this could potentially mean a client who did not renew and send the certificate on time would lose access or be presented with a security message.
