Enable a labor assignment without craft distinction in Graphical Assignment application

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

In “Assignment view” tab, a skilled labor is spread in many craft groups.

Consequence #1 : A planner or a scheduler can’t have a visual overview on all remaining period of availability for each labor. This information is not exactly known until another Work Order / Task is dragged to the considered labor in one of his craft group. The visual checking is done by looking at the colour of the horizontal bar. Several trials are sometime necessary.

Consequence #2 : A planner doesn’t always need to choose a specific craft to assign a Work Order / Task to a labor especially in medium / small crew, in multi-skilled crew or in companies which do not use hourly rate.

The idea is to be able to choose in the “Schedule” main tab if the assignment is done on labor in craft group or directly on labor.

Hi Jonathan, thanks for you Idea, but I will need some additional information to understand clear the details over it. Today normal situation of our customer is to have a Generic Craft that all resources that has their default Craft, has this as Generic as additional Craft so they can handle this bundle of work. But in case I need to assign a work the Maximo Assignment logic always required a labor with Craft, as I understand you are looking at not Craft Match ans that doesn't seems to be possible without breaking Assignment Manager logic. So if possible mind to share you expectation and check if the Generic as Additional craft doesn't work for you? Taking advantage of this contact I can share we have a concept of Bucket of work that is not target but the customer can choose and assing manual who will be the best, but still the Assignment will required the Craft/Crew Type and Labor/Crew. Thanks.
